We are proud to announce that we are the national winners of Young Creative Chevrolet 2013 in the UK! Against stiff competition from colleges and universities from around the UK, our talented HE students have not only won first prize in the video category of the prestigious competition, but also achieved a clean sweep – winning 1st, 2nd and 3rd prize. The winners collected there award and prize money at half-time, during the Manchester United versus Real Madrid Legends match at Old Trafford, Manchester. They were wined and dined by Executives from Chevrolet and the Judges of the competition, during the match. The judges were all influential practitioners/employers from the industry, including: Ade Rawcliffe – Diversity and Talent Manager at Channel 4 and Johann Chan – Arts Editor for Digital Arts Magazine.

All 1st Year HND and BSc (Top-Up) students entered as part of their assessments and their universal success further validates the departments’ approach and philosophy of not only creating great, imaginative, practically complex work, but also the need to separate yourself from the crowd by winning prizes, international competitions and working on films with a cinematic release.

The BMC media departments core philosophy is to provide students with a high quality, practical filmmaking education that allows them to interact successfully with live briefs that are instigated by external clients, the filmmaking community and international competitions.
