Three of our HND Year 2 students have won third prize in the UK National Europass Viral Video competition; further cementing our departments’ high ‘hitrate’ for festivals and competitions.

This is no fluke and is down to the hard work and commitment that these – and all our students – show when trying to push their industry practice and stand-out from the crowd. Well done boys. Not bad for a days work! The official press release can be found below or via the Europass website here: Europass

The UK National Europass Centre announces the winner of 2013 Viral Video Competition

The UK NEC is pleased to announce that judging has now concluded for the 2013 competition.

“We were impressed by the high level of skill in the submissions”- commented Frazer Wallace, the National Europass Centre Co-ordinator.

The films were judged on their originality, visual impact, presentation, creativity and effectiveness in marketing Europass to the target audience.

The Southampton Solent University took the two top prizes. The video produced by ‘The Mighty Ducks’ (Michael McCallum, Marie Anestad, Nick Pritchard and Ben Jones) will be awarded the first prize, as they presented Europass in an effective way, as a tool enabling people to work all over Europe.

Their colleagues from ‘The Winning Entry’ team (Jamie Bunce, Tom Mcgovern, Veronica Licheva and Matthew Flynn) placed second for their humorous black and white silent film promoting the benefits of Europass.

The third prize will be awarded to ‘Project Indie’ (Peter Bendoris, Craig Ellis and Joey Lever) from Brooksby Melton College.

The videos of the finalists are now available at Europass UK You Tube channel.

Congratulations to all the winners and thank you to all who entered. The winners will receive prizes in January 2014.
